My name is Mike. Back in 2012, I purchased my first home shortly after getting married, and not long after that, our son was born. The house was built in 1980, and I wouldn’t say it’s our dream home, but it’s a great place to raise our son. It has a nice big backyard, which is where we spend most of our time in the summer. The home is also close to amenities around town and just down the street from our sons’ schools.
Initially, the home seemed to be in good shape when we purchased it, but as with any home, it came with its fair share of challenges. I’m a do-it-yourself kind of guy, so whenever there is a problem, I try to tackle the issues myself, well, me and Google, that is. I’ve learned that its not hard to tackle problems on your own in this day and age when you have both Google and Youtube at your fingertips.
Over the past couple of years, I have learned a lot of things that I never knew before. Mostly from researching small problems I would find around the home or looking into ways to prevent future problems before they happened. Fixing problems myself has also been a great way to learn as I’m more of a hands-on kind of guy.
I decided to set up this website to share everything that I have learned with you but also to have a reference guide for my son to follow for when he is older.
